BSG Endoscopy Live (website)

ASGBI International Surgical Congress (website)

The theme of the event is ‘Coping with Complications’ and attempts to shed light on the burden unexpected problems place upon both patients and practitioners, in particular the heavy weight serious complications leave upon surgeons. Experts have been invited to discuss commonly encountered complications, how best to avoid them, deal with them when they arrive and better ways in which to record them. The conference aims to offer something for everyone and fulfil the Association’s founding ethos of “the advancement of the science and art of surgery, and the promotion of friendship amongst surgeons.”

At the Digital Healthcare Show individuals are invited to be part of a revolutionary event showcasing cutting edge digital healthcare products, all designed with the aim of improving services and patient satisfaction. Key themes include ‘Digital Innovation and Emerging Technologies’ and ‘Infrastructure and Cyber Security’, with sessions delivered by top digital leaders who have tried and tested ground breaking technologies and discuss the positive effects it has had upon their practise. 30th Annual Scientific Meeting (website)

The 30th Annual Scientific Meeting consists of sessions and workshops targeted towards improving clinical excellence. Just two of the many seminars available are ‘Technology supporting the day surgery pathway’ and ‘Benchmarking and the Model hospital’. There will also be the opportunity for debate, with the discussion topic for the 2019 conference being “All slow surgeons should be banned from day surgery.” The event promises to be crucial for practitioners wishing to gain skills and understanding in order to better themselves and their practise.

RACS 88TH Annual Scientific Congress (website)

It’s not a UK conference, but EIDO Healthcare Australia will also be attending the 88th RACS Annual Scientific Congress in Thailand, and we can be found at booth 27. The theme for this year is ‘The Complete Surgeon: Backing The Future’, and will be exploring how surgeons can best become well rounded across all specialties rather than accomplished in one field alone. Various scientific programmes are available to ensure all attendees leave feeling their own individual needs were met. The conference provides participants with an invaluable chance to present their experience, wisdom and opinions to their peers and in doing so gain a greater ability to go out and become the best practitioner they can be.
